Your own booking page vs sports booking apps

Marketplace apps bring new players. Your own booking page keeps the ones you already have. Here is how they differ.

Sports booking marketplaces list many venues in one app and help new players discover you, usually in return for a commission or fee per booking. Your own booking page, like the one VenueOS gives you, carries your brand, keeps the customer relationship with you and charges no commission. Many venues use both: a marketplace for discovery and their own page for regulars.

Why do venues list on booking marketplaces?

Discovery. A player searching an app for a court nearby can find a venue they have never heard of. For a new venue with empty slots, that reach is worth paying for.

Why do venues want their own booking page?

Most bookings at an established venue come from regulars who already know you. Sending them through a marketplace means paying a cut on customers you already have, under someone else’s brand, and without their contact details in your own records.

Can I use both?

Yes. Many venues keep a marketplace listing for discovery and move regulars, teams and academy parents to their own link. Bookings taken anywhere else can be added to the VenueOS calendar by your staff so slots never clash.
